About Me

Hi there! I'm Courtney! I'm thrilled to share a little slice of my story with you.

I grew up surrounded by the wide-open spaces of an acreage outside Ponoka, Alberta. In Ponoka I, was always surrounded by my large loving family and strangers that would come up saying they knew my  Mom or Dad. 

Fast forward to after high school, I left the comforts of the small town to live in Calgary. I left in pursuit of higher education at the University of Calgary, where studied Communications and Media Studies. Among all of the courses I took, my heart was drawn to design and art. Living in Calgary also made me realize I did not want to move further away from the mountains, so I moved closer... ish!  

In 2023, I left the craziness of the big city and moved to Cochrane, Alberta. I find myself embracing the quieter pace of life alongside my fiance, Tanner, and our two mischievous feline companions, Miikka and Iggy.

Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine, sparked by the humble beginnings of disposable cameras and nurtured by my sister's DSLR that I loved to borrow until I had my own. From snapping shots as a hobby to taking the plunge into professional photography in 2020, it's been a journey filled with endless creativity and joy.

In addition to capturing life's beautiful moments through my lens, I've also rediscovered my love for hair styling. What started as a high school hobby when I took cosmetology blossomed into the side gig that keeps me busy during wedding season. During the slower season you will find me growing my skills through advanced bridal hair styling courses.

 

When I’m not behind the lens or styling hair, you’ll probably find me playing volleyball, slo-pitch, or pickleball—or enjoying one of my many hobbies, like hiking, camping, paint nights, or knitting. Life’s all about balance and doing what makes your heart sing.
